- CREATE SOLUTIONS -
The BRIO Impact Fellowship aims to support student-led ventures that look to build or resolve dialogue surrounding a pressing social issue in the United States or abroad. We want to hear stories that matter, find ideas that bridge gaps in our communities and take active steps to achieving their end goal.
Established in 2014, the fellowship will be granted to one new idea every year. Funds will be raised from our annual Valentines Day auction - the amount received will be granted to the winning idea.
But, this isn’t a conventional fellowship.
From the applications we receive we will select a final few ideas. These ideas will be showcased at the auction, and people will vote for their favorite idea. At the end of the auction, we will announce the amount of money we have raised and the winning idea. The proceeds will go to this project.
We cannot offer a concrete amount of funding, but as an indicator, last year we raised $2,000 through this event. This year, we hope to generate around the same amount.
The fellowship will grow with the years, and with its ideas. In the future, we hope that this fellowship will become a student-run support tool for new ideas, as previous recipients can opt to share their wisdom with the latest recipient. The BRIO Impact Fellowship will evolve into a space for ideas to incubate, for students to share their concerns, interests and possible solutions.
